Golden Gate Bridge - San Francisco

It's time (again) to appreciate where I am right now.

Visiting the beautiful Golden Gate Bridge shortly before sunset!

As usual the background story:

My aunt from Europe came to visit me and my sister for the first time since my sis moved here almost 12 years ago. It was her first trip to the United States and my sis offered her the full experience. Since I only had one day off I got to choose which of the sights we do on my day. I choose the Muir Woods (since I've never been there) and the Golden Gate Bridge.
I've only been to the bridge once. Which was when I first came to visit when I was 18. This time we went to a different viewpoint and it made me fall in love with San Francisco all over again.

Most often said sentence within that hour: Wow, this is our home!

Jep, my family is pretty awesome!

San Diego Road Trip - La Jolla Cove

This one is the personal side of my road trip to San Diego.
Since I was down there for the Vans Warped Tour, me and two of my friends who were about to fly back home to Europe decided to extend our trip and also visit San Diego, La Jolla Cove and Los Angeles.

Sadly due to the crazy L.A. traffic we didn't really get to do any of our plans like seeing the Griffith Observatory etc.We spend most of our road trip in the car.

But our visit of La Jolla Cove turned out very nice. The weather was slightly overcast which was actually really nice for our horribly burned skin!

So my trip started shortly after two crazy double-double shifts at the airport at 5am with only 3 hours of sleep. We flew down to San Diego on the day of the festival. So we were relying on no delays and no cancellations. (Coming from the field of aviation - not very thought through but as usually we were in luck)

After six hours in the burning sun (by then my two friends had already abandoned me to wait alone three hours for Pierce The Veil - can't blame them though) I was running on fumes.
But to my own surprise I was still able to change and hit the Gaslamp District with them.

The next day we picked up our rental car and left for La Jolla Cove. By that time all of us were in pain everytime the sun touched our exposed skin. Luckily it was overcast and not too warm so we were okay to wear long sleeves etc.

A little tip to everyone who wants to visit La Jolla Cove: Don't go to the advertised places! This is the lagoon you usually see but.. well the picture says it all. Just walk down the cliff path and you'll find much nicer fews!

Bottom line: La Jolla Cove is worth a visit!

Even though Los Angeles was a slight bust for us, it was nice to hang out there again. Since I've been to L.A. three times within less than a year, Hollywood Boulevard feels so familar that I actually manage to get around without map!

And our place actually captured some tranquility I didn't expect so close to the Walk Of Fame.

Vans Warped Tour San Diego - final part 5 - Pierce The Veil

The other band I was looking forward to see was Pierce The Veil.
Last time I got held up at the Journey Stage watching Pvris that I didn't make it to the Unicorn Stage in time. The crowd was insane!
This time I actually had to wait three hours to see them which turned into a game of "seeking shade".

I didn't get to enjoy the performance that much since I was simply exhausted. But there was no way of not noticing the amazing connection between the band and the audience since this was Pierce The Veil's hometown gig. Unfortunately for me all photographers seemed to be infront of their stage that's why I wasn't able to move as much and the picture turn out is rather small.

Still, looking back I'm really glad I waited! Even though I got the worst sunburn of my life!

Well, the sunburn is gone, but the the pictures and memories are staying with me!

Vans Warped Tour San Diego - part 4 - As It Is

Super excited for this one.
I had two bands I was really looking forward to. One of them was As It Is.
I saw them for the first time at the Mountain View stop and  it made me buy their album when I got home.
So over a month later I got excited to see them again and this time I would know all the songs.

I even ran into them a bunch of times behind the Journey Stage and they seemed really sweet. In Mountain View I stood side stage for their performance, in San Diego I was in the photo pit. So the pictures turned out way nicer.
