Full Frontal is back!!

A little late to post about it but the last episode was so funny that I had to write something.

I'm talking about the radio podcast with Alex Gaskarth and Jack Barakat of All Time Low!

As long as you are not impressionable or sensitive and have a bit of a dark humor, Full Frontal is super funny and surprisingly somewhat educational! I've been listening to all Season's and I gathered quite an amount of what I like to call "random knowledge".

Can't wait to see All Time Low live next week! It's going to be the first time and I'm super excited!

Hollywood Ending ending?!...

After four years Hollywood Ending is taking a break... I got to say I'm really bummed out.

Hollywood Ending has been one of my four favorite bands for a while now and I was always up to date on what's new.
I fell in love with their music when I first heard Not Another Song About Love and Good Time Girl and they're a big part of one of my most amazing concert experiences I had so far. They're all incredibly nice and talented guys!

Dan, Tyler, Cameron and Chris I wish each of you only the best and I hope this break is not forever and not for too long.

Thank you for your awesome music
(and for picking this picture as part of your goodbye collage!^^)

Flashback: Jet-setting to 5 Seconds of Summer

It's not as crazy as it might sound...
Or maybe it is?!

Short story: I flew to Los Angeles to see 5 Seconds of Summer and here are some pictures:
(Long story after the pictures)

I admit I am crazy about music!

I'm the girl walking around with loud music blasting out of the headphones that you have to nudge me or wave infront of my face to get attention.
And even though I like all kinds of genre's I have my favorite bands (all kind of the same style) that I follow passionately. Most of them I discovered during a terrible time in my life and the music helped me through it.
That's how I discovered 5 Seconds of Summer.
One of the people I loved most passed away and the band's quirkiness and their happy and upbeat music kept me from getting too sad.

Back then 5 Seconds of Summer had only 4 original songs on YouTube. (Btw I found them during one of my Busted-phases. Someone posted a comment on the Year 3000 video mentioning them and I looked them up. So thank you, stranger!) When I searched their name in iTunes the only thing popping up was Beethoven Symphony No. 5.

When they announced their first concert in SF I tried to go, but it was sold out too fast (I completely forgot to ask my office though... Well, too late).

Anyway they started touring with One Direction, got signed and became pretty big. So when they announced their first headline arena show in Los Angeles I had to go!

After I got the ticket for the Forum I bought some plane tickets (while I was further south I decided to make a two day stopover in Las Vegas as well hehe). That was only the second time I went to L.A. and the first time was 8 years ago. Well every once in a while I'm spontaneous and adventurous.

November came, I jumped on a plane, after the plane I jumped in a cab and there I was at the Forum.
The first time I've ever went to a concert in a venue that big (I missed the concert-phase growing up so I'm making up for it now).

It was AMAZING. The guys are great live! The lights were amazing and they had those huge screens where you could see them from anywhere in the venue. And the electrifying atmosphere got topped off by the fans. The screaming was so loud it started to hurt sometimes. During the songs when thousands of people (or girls to be exact) sang along, I got goose bums. You could actually feel the voices on your skin!
Simply incredible.

After the concert I jumped in a cab again and drove to the airport to wait around 9 hours for my flight to Las Vegas.

Bottom line: Absolutely worth it!

Flashbacks from the end of last year

I have been very busy with work the last few months so I didn't really do a lot of stuff that is worth mentioning.
Instead I'm going to post some flashbacks from the end of last year. I did some cool stuff.

Keeping the magic in San Francisco

"New is always better" (quote "How I Met Your Mother")
but is it really?
Or should we believe our parents and grandparents "Everything was better in the olden days"

I started to think about that a while ago.
San Francisco has always been my favorite city. Otherwise I wouldn't have moved half a world away to be here. Life is too short to not love where you are and do what you are doing! ;)

But in the last year I started to doubt my love for this city...
I live further south in the Peninsula, but go to the city twice or three times a week since my office is in SF downtown.
Since I moved here the city got more shabby and I've seen some things that really shocked me.

Then I expected visitors from Europe who never have been to the US before. I wanted them to see the city, my new home, how I saw it the first few times I came here. And I hoped their view would change my view back to what it used to be.
Well, things came up and I didn't get to show them around...

So the city is still what it is.
I could only think of three options to deal with this: Suck it up and live with it, move to a new place or rekindle the flame.
Trying to except that my view of the city changed and just live with it, sounded like the way to depression and frustration to me. Moving to a new place sounds exciting, but it's not very realistic. My job and limited money rule that out. So how can I rekindle the flame? You can't unsee things you've seen! But have you ever thought about why we usually travel to places far away, but never see tourist things that are right infront of us (unless we get visitors)?
So, I went and did some tourist stuff like visiting Crissy Fields and look at the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz. And it was amazing!

Knowing that some places have dark sides shouldn't keep you from focusing on the wonderful parts. (Lol, the last part actually fits pretty well to interpersonal relationships!)
I got reminded why I love my city and in case I doubt it again, I'm going to take a trip to one of the many beautiful sights San Francisco has to offer!

Give it a try! You might be surprised how beautiful your home is!!
