Flashback: Jet-setting to 5 Seconds of Summer

It's not as crazy as it might sound...
Or maybe it is?!

Short story: I flew to Los Angeles to see 5 Seconds of Summer and here are some pictures:
(Long story after the pictures)

I admit I am crazy about music!

I'm the girl walking around with loud music blasting out of the headphones that you have to nudge me or wave infront of my face to get attention.
And even though I like all kinds of genre's I have my favorite bands (all kind of the same style) that I follow passionately. Most of them I discovered during a terrible time in my life and the music helped me through it.
That's how I discovered 5 Seconds of Summer.
One of the people I loved most passed away and the band's quirkiness and their happy and upbeat music kept me from getting too sad.

Back then 5 Seconds of Summer had only 4 original songs on YouTube. (Btw I found them during one of my Busted-phases. Someone posted a comment on the Year 3000 video mentioning them and I looked them up. So thank you, stranger!) When I searched their name in iTunes the only thing popping up was Beethoven Symphony No. 5.

When they announced their first concert in SF I tried to go, but it was sold out too fast (I completely forgot to ask my office though... Well, too late).

Anyway they started touring with One Direction, got signed and became pretty big. So when they announced their first headline arena show in Los Angeles I had to go!

After I got the ticket for the Forum I bought some plane tickets (while I was further south I decided to make a two day stopover in Las Vegas as well hehe). That was only the second time I went to L.A. and the first time was 8 years ago. Well every once in a while I'm spontaneous and adventurous.

November came, I jumped on a plane, after the plane I jumped in a cab and there I was at the Forum.
The first time I've ever went to a concert in a venue that big (I missed the concert-phase growing up so I'm making up for it now).

It was AMAZING. The guys are great live! The lights were amazing and they had those huge screens where you could see them from anywhere in the venue. And the electrifying atmosphere got topped off by the fans. The screaming was so loud it started to hurt sometimes. During the songs when thousands of people (or girls to be exact) sang along, I got goose bums. You could actually feel the voices on your skin!
Simply incredible.

After the concert I jumped in a cab again and drove to the airport to wait around 9 hours for my flight to Las Vegas.

Bottom line: Absolutely worth it!
